Restaurant Review: Hala

Hala, Turkish Restaurant, 29 Grand Parade, Green Lanes, Haringay

A SEA OF FALAFEL

A MASSIVE PARCEL OF MEAT

THE MEAT REVEAL (lamb ribs, chicken shish, quail and more)

COMPLIMENTARY SALADS AND FABULOUS TURKISH BREAD

= HAPPY PUNTERS!!

So, the huuuuuge falafel dish was £6.50; the three-way MULTI meat plate – which was even bigger than it looks here – was £25 between three blokes with VERY BIG appetites (there were leftovers, too). Hala may look like a mere kebab shop from the outside, situated on a road of kebab shops, but venture into this Turkish food Narnia and prepare to be seduced. Now we’re all Halaback Girls! And Boys! (Thanks, Ross – pictured above)

  1. This looks like a great place to eat. I really think eating culture in UK is moving towards the sharing concept. You look at many outlets now all promoting the idea of platters, sharing, making it more of a more social event.
